The conference welcomes web developers, music technologists, computer musicians, application designers, industry engineers, R&D scientists, academic researchers, artists, students and people interested in the fields of web development, music technology, computer music, audio applications and web standards.

We particularly wish to encourage submissions from artists and scholars who are women, queer, or gender diverse, young/emerging, historically marginalized, have a disability, or who simply work outside of academia and mainstream institutions.

Submission process

All submissions will be single-blinded reviewed. The conference proceedings, which will include both papers (short and long) and extended abstracts (for talks, demos, performances, and artworks), will be published open-access online with Creative Commons attribution, and with an ISSN number.

Submission Tracks

We welcome submissions in the following tracks: paper (short and long), practitioner talk, performance, demos and workshops.

  • Long papers: 6-10 page paper to be presented as an oral presentation.
  • Short papers: 2-4 page paper to be presented as poster presentation.
  • Practitioner talk: 1-2 page extended abstract to be presented as a short oral presentation. The proposal must include a title, a brief related work, a description of the work or topic to be presented and a short biography of the author(s).
  • Performance: 1-2 page extended abstract that must include a title, a description of the performance, links to audio/video documentation of the work, biographies of all performers and a complete list of technical requirements.
  • Artworks and Demos: 1-2 page extended abstract including a title, a description of the project, diagrams, images or links to online resources. Works must be suitable for presentation on a computer kiosk with headphones.
  • Workshop: If you are interested in running a workshop session at the conference, please contact the organizers directly.

If your proposal requires unusual equipment to be provided by conference organizers, please contact the session chairs to ensure the feasibility of the proposal.

Important note: due to time and space constraints, in particular regarding the performance session, the committee may requalify a proposal into another track, e.g. from performance to artwork or demo.
